May Featured Musician – Sheila Casalett

Sheila Casalett is a Washington North Carolina native. She began her musical journey on trumpet at PS Jones Middle School in the late 80s and later transitioned to guitar and vocals in her mid-20s. She currently lives in Raleigh, where she works as an instructional designer and performs 3-4 times a week at local venues and events. She returns to Washington at least once a month to play downtown and visit family. Sheila’s interests are deeply rooted in cultural exploration. She holds a BA and MA in Spanish literature and enjoys singing in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, and Italian. Borrowing from the sounds of the standards written in the 1930s through the 1960s, Sheila’s music is often described as cozy, soothing, and lovely. She believes that a calm soul breeds peace and aims to share that feeling with others through her music.
